De Beers Group is actively recruiting for skilled trades and equipment operator positions at its Gahcho Kué Diamond Mine, located in the Northwest Territories. These mining jobs offer two-year fixed-term, fly-in/fly-out contracts with a 14/14 rotational schedule, full camp accommodations, and charter flights from Calgary or Yellowknife. Opportunities are available for experienced mining professionals to join a safe, inclusive, and high-performing diamond mining operation.

  1. Heavy Equipment Operators: Operate large-scale equipment including haul trucks, dozers, loaders, shovels, graders, and excavators to support ore and waste movement in an open-pit setting. Requires qualification on at least three equipment types and a minimum of three years of open-pit or remote site experience.
  2. Heavy Equipment Technicians: Perform preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and major repairs on mobile, stationary, and auxiliary mining equipment. Requires a valid Red Seal Journeyperson Heavy Duty Technician Certification and minimum one year of surface mining experience.
  3. Electricians: Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical and electronic systems on mobile and stationary mining equipment. Ensure compliance with Arc Flash, lockout/tagout, and other electrical safety protocols while supporting high equipment reliability. Requires a valid Journeyperson Electrician certification, four years of mining or heavy industrial experience, and proficiency in electrical diagnostics and schematics interpretation.
  4. Condition Monitoring Technicians: Lead predictive maintenance programs using vibration, thermography, ultrasound, and lubrication analysis to improve reliability of rotating and fixed plant equipment. Requires Red Seal Millwright certification, ISO Category II Vibration and MLA I/II credentials, and at least five years of condition monitoring experience in mining or heavy industry.
  5. Loader Operators: Operate large front-end loaders (e.g., Komatsu WA900) to manage ore stockpiles and maintain consistent feed to the primary crusher. Support crushing operations, perform inspections, and maintain accurate logs. Requires a minimum of five years’ open-pit or process plant experience on loaders and strong safety and communication skills.
  6. Fuel Truck Operators: Provide safe, efficient fueling and lubrication of mobile mining equipment to minimize downtime. Responsible for accurate fueling records, equipment cleanliness, and coordination with mine operations. Requires heavy-equipment operating experience (minimum one year), Air Brake endorsement, and mechanical aptitude; open-pit experience preferred.
  7. Shovel Technicians: Conduct preventive maintenance and major repairs on hydraulic shovels, excavators, and large loaders (Komatsu PC5500, PC2000, WA1200). Diagnose and troubleshoot hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems to ensure high equipment availability. Requires Red Seal Heavy Duty Mechanic certification, 5–7 years’ experience on large mining shovels, and familiarity with Komatsu and Cummins systems.
  8. Welders: Perform welding and fabrication for mobile, stationary, and auxiliary mining equipment; provide leadership to shop welding crews to ensure quality and safety compliance. Requires Red Seal Welder certification, five years’ mining or heavy-equipment experience, and strong fabrication, blueprint reading, and supervision skills.
